Our Mission
GreenTea.st exists because brewing green tea shouldn’t be guesswork. Too many people give up on green tea after one bitter cup — brewed too hot, steeped too long, with the wrong variety for their taste. We’re here to fix that.
We publish research-backed brewing guides, maintain an interactive temperature and time calculator covering 15 tea varieties, and create honest product reviews to help you find teas worth drinking.
What We Cover
Brewing Science — Every green tea has an ideal water temperature and steep time. Our brewing calculator gives you precise recommendations for sencha, matcha, gyokuro, hojicha, genmaicha, and 10 more varieties — backed by research and tested in our own cups.
Tea Profiles — We maintain detailed profiles for over 15 green tea varieties, covering origin, flavor, caffeine content, health benefits, and step-by-step brewing instructions. From Japan’s shade-grown gyokuro to China’s pan-fired longjing, we go deep on every tea we write about.
Product Reviews — Our shop features only products we’ve personally brewed and tasted. We buy teas with our own money, test them side by side, and only recommend what we’d actually drink ourselves.
Our Editorial Process
Every piece of content on GreenTea.st follows these principles:
Research first. Brewing temperatures, health claims, and caffeine data are cross-referenced against published studies and traditional preparation methods — not copied from other blogs.
Test everything. When we recommend a product or brewing method, we’ve tried it ourselves. If a tea tastes bad at the temperature someone else recommends, we say so.
No pay-for-play. No brand has ever paid for a review or placement on GreenTea.st. Our product recommendations come from personal testing, not sponsorship deals.
